My name is Karissa Geurink. I am 20 years old and I am a junior at Kuyper College. This blog is a part of an assignment for one of my classes this semester; the class is called Spiritual Formation. I will be posting about my own life and how I have seen God acting within it.
A little bit of my background is that I grew up as a missionary kid in Tijuana, Mexico. This has been a huge part of my life considering I lived there until I was almost 18. This being the case, I am sure I will mention Mexico quite often as I post on this blog. I also had the opportunity to go to the schools in Mexico and so I was truly submerged into the culture, it also made it possible for me to become bilingual at a very young age. I loved growing up in Tijuana even if I did stick out like a sore thumb; I also really appreciate being the daughter of two very devout Christians who have truly blessed my life by showing me how I should act, what it means to be a Christ follower. I have two siblings who are also a large part of my life and I love dearly. They are both now married. My brother has been married for two years now and my sister just got married this summer. I am so happy for them both and love both my in-laws.
I am a very loud, talkative and happy person. I love laughing, it is unusual for me not to be smiling or laughing at something. I also enjoy making other people smile, even if it is at my own expense. I love my family and friends and try to prioritize my relationships over other events. I love music and find myself singing ALL the time. I also really enjoy reading books and watching movies. I recently discovered that I also enjoy drawing, but only when it comes to black and white drawings, I am not very skilled when it comes to colors. I hope that over the next few months you find my blog posts intriguing, funny, and inspiring, I also hope that they may help you to reflect on your own perspectives or thoughts related to what I am speaking of. I would love to hear your feedback to anything I post; I am always open to hear other perspectives or impacting life stories!
